2024 Ravensworth ‘Wine Globe Project’ Amber Field Blend, Canberra District $45 RRP
McCarthy, Hilliker, and Aitken selected this among their top six picks from the day. McCarthy shouted out its brilliance: “Let it rip – citrus catalogue throughout, savoury and oxidative appreciation. Exclamatory enthusiasm for the whole thing.” Hilliker championed the wine’s aromatic intensity: “Hello gewürztraminer! Floral and spice cataloguing candied ginger, rose petals, Japanese red bean, purple sweet potato. Phenolic bitterness appreciated, fun and tangy throughout.” Aitken found dazzling purity and brilliance: “Pale orange with crystalline structure. Lactic creaminess and blueberry compote on yoghurt, pyrazine notes. Chunky tannins with sunshine-and-friends language.”
