2025 MAT7 Sangiovese

Again 2025 was a brilliant year. After the frost that took away almost all our own fruit in 2024, we got a bumper crop from our earliest years on record. Go climate change, it's certainly making things interesting on the farm.

This year other project was to make two wines from single clones of our beloved sangiovese. Not possible up to now given we needed it all for our estate release (out next year) so with the extra fruit we've singled out two clones that are quite different yet both express sangiovese in all it's glory.

MAT7 is a newish clone that is sourced from the a great vineyards in Chianto Classico. essentially the area around Florence and Sienna, the most elevated heart of Chianti. Noted for great colour, lots of red fruits and works in colder areas.

Production wise we've chosen two Italian made concrete pyramids. These should show the clonal difference better than oak as they are both exactly the same.
