It's back. Our premium home grown Sangiovese. We've been making this since 2005 and it's definitely our top selling wine each year.

2023 has given the wine an elegant frame with black cherry, spice and other red fruits - blood plum, cranberries - floral with some dry herbs/tea 
Always a lovely acidity and those very fine, persistent tannins.

Looks great now but as always, if you can hold onto it for 5+ years you'll be rewarded with more savour and intensity.

Processing: Processed to whole berries in 10hl oak cuves and concrete for fermentation. On skins for 6 months then pressed to large format foudre for second year

Vintage conditions: Another cool year, very wet early that kept us on our toes in the vineyard. Was a year for patience, faith and gumboots.

Cellaring: 10 years plus
Something interesting: Our oldest vines, planted to a range of Brunello clones. Sangiovese refers to the Blood of Jove which relates to the very red colour of most Sangiovese due to the high acid.
Drink with: Food for sure, Italian food absolutely, pizza yes!
